Science Exhibition and Literacy Activities for Students
The Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspire Research and Educational (INSPIRE) is a National programme implemented by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India to popularize science and to encourage the young generation to take interest in the area of science and technology. The SCERT has been designated as the nodal Department for the conduct of the INSPIRE award in the State. The scheme is open for all student of class 6-10 belonging to the State Government schools. Sainik schools, Novadaya Vidyalaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya, private aided schools and other central schools. During the period, SCERT, Nagaland has organized the 2nd State Level Innovation in Science pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) at Rüzhükhrie Govt. Higher Secondary School, Kohima where 136 Student has participated with great enthusiasm. The State level winner participated at the 3rd national Level INSPIRE Competition held at New Delhi (8th – 10th Oct. 2013) where St. Mary’s Cathedral Church Higher Secondary School, Kohima was awarded the 1st position under the N-E Region category
The SCERT, Nagaland has also organized the 2nd Edition of the State Level Spelling Bee and Extempore & Elocution Competition for the student of Class 8- 12. The 1st position in Spelling Bee was bagged by the Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima and Kohima Science College and Queen Mary’s Hr. Sec. School; Mokokchung bagged the Championships in the Elocution and Extempore speech respectively.
