Training of Untrained Teachers under distance mode

To train the backlog of untrained in-service primary teachers in the State, the State Government after obtaining the approval of the NCTE , has signed  a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) for introduction of the 2 years Diploma  in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) through the distance mode .For this,17 study centers have been established. The program is being funded by SSA. The number of teachers deputed by the Directorate of School Education is 1575 but 1323 enrolled for the programme. This training is an ongoing programme.
