National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) and National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) and National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) are Schemes implemented by the Government of India through the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The main objective of the NTSE is to identify meritorious students and to nurture their talents while the NMMS is conducted to identify meritorious students, particularly from the economically weaker section of the society including the physically challenged and to reduce the dropout rate at the elementary level. The task for conducting the State Level examinations for these schemes has been entrusted to the SCERT by the State Government. Students of class 10 from both the Private and the Government schools are eligible for the NTSE examination which is conducted in 3 stages whereas for the NMMS examination only the Government school children of Class 8 are eligible. For the NTSE, 25 students as per the State quota can sit for the Second stage Examination while 180 Students can avail the NMMS scholarship provided the qualifying scores are obtained by the candidates.

The NTSE/NMMS cell of the Department has conducted the Scholarship Examinations for the academic year 2014-15. The breakup of the NTSE/NMMS examinations conducted by SCERT during 2014-15 are as given below:
