Teacher Eligibility Test ( TET)
The RTE, Act 2009 and the guidelines of the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) New Delhi has stipulated that for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher, one must pass the TET examination. Moreover those appointed on contract/adhoc are also to be regularized only through the TET. The State Government has entrusted the SCERT to conduct the TET at the State level. The Department has conducted the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for elementary school teachers where 8949 candidates have appeared and a total of 4358 have qualified in the written test. The TET was conducted using the Optical Marks Reading (OMR) for the first time. In addition, the SCERT has conducted Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for 952 posts under RMSA in the month of May 2014 where 4773 Candidates have appeared and 2319 candidates have qualified in the written test.
