State level orientation on Nipun Bharat at SSCERT Kohima
State level orientation programme on implementing Foundational Literacy & Baseline (FLB) under Nipun Bharat was conducted under SCERT, in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha in Kohima.
At the programme, SCERT director, N. Chumchanbeni Kikon emphasized on the importance of FLB and ensured that the initiative would benefit school, students and teachers across the state and at the same time track and monitor every student’s progress with focus on capacity building and language development at the same time involving participation of the local community.
SCERT reader, Lanukala Jamir informed that the baseline survey would be an initial step with a goal to make sure that every child in the state attains necessary foundational literacy by 2026-27 and plans to accomplish reading, writing and numeracy abilities by the end of third grade.
The survey would involve 1176 primary schools, 744 private school covering all the districts on subjects (Mathematics & language) with oral as well as written mode of assessments.
In the second session, a PowerPoint presentation was made by Veketulu Veyie followed by Roseline Richa and a discussion was held among the master trainers and DIET faculty members.
